-1 Glaucoma scams Ray Chamberlain
Post #1
Ray Chamberlain some years ago did some research on Glaucoma that is relevant to this day. The results of this research shows that much that goes on in treating Glaucoma is a con game. It doesn't do much good but makes doctors rich. This blog will republish his findings so it will not be lost. What I learned from his research is that if doctors were not able to prescribe changing the pressure in the eye (IOP) they would be out of business because treating glaucoma means changing the pressure in the eye.
Treatment for Glaucoma is mainly adjusting the IOP. For years the public were told that changing the IOP would slow or halt the progression of Glaucoma. Then it was noted that there was glaucoma in eyes that had good pressure or even low pressure so to combat that knowledge and still sell the idea that changing eye pressure was the solution to going blind doctors came up with the rule that for those who had, what was considered good or even low pressure, they had a formula which would stop the patient from going blind. So now if you have IOP in what was considered the normal range they consider a number of factors and come up with a pressure that should stop the progression of optic nerve damage.
